A woman dying of cancer created a dating profile for her husband.
Author Amy Krouse Rosenthal knew she was dying when she penned a column asking someone to marry her husband. On March 3, the 51-year-old wrote her last Modern Column for the New York Times titled “You May Want to Marry My Husband” which focused on selling her husband’s romantic attributes in hopes of finding him a future wife.
“If you’re looking for a dreamy, let’s-go-for-it travel companion, Jason is your man. He also has an affinity for tiny things: taster spoons, little jars, a mini-sculpture of a couple sitting on a bench, which he presented to me as a reminder of how our family began,” she wrote.
In 2015, Rosenthal was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She was aware her situation was terminal and she knew her end was close when she penned a sort of dating profile for Jason, her husband of 26 years.
Her column went viral. Sadly on Monday morning March 13, Rosenthal passed away.
Our condolences to her husband and three children.
Would you want your spouse to marry again if you passed on?
