Man Stalking Colin Firth and Wife Turns Out To Be Her Ex-Lover
A stalker case turns out to be a messy love triangle for actor Colin Firth and his wife .
Colin Firth’s wife Livia Guiggioli accused Italian journalist Marco Brancaccia, 55, of stalking her and her husband with “frightening” messages, according to British newspaper The Times. The police are now looking into the matter.
Brancaccia, denies the accusation claiming she’s lying in order to cover up their alleged affair back in 2015 and 2016. “She wanted to leave Colin for me,” he told The Times.
The actor, 57, and his Italian wife, 48, were attempting to keep the matter quiet but a leaked court document revealed the allegations which forced the pair’s representative to issue a statement regarding the messy affair which People obtained.
“A few years ago Colin and Livia privately made the decision to separate. During that time Livia briefly became involved with former friend Mr. Brancaccia,” says the statement. The Firths have since reunited. Subsequently, Mr. Brancaccia carried out a frightening campaign of harassment over several months, much of which is documented. For obvious reasons, the Firths have never had any desire to make this matter public.”
Brancaccia didn’t take the Firth’s reunion well and has since been trying to win her back, but denies stalking his ex-lover.
“My ‘stalking’ consisted of two messages via WhatsApp after she ended our relationship in June 2016, and an email,” he told The Times. “I wrote an email to Colin about my relationship with Livia, which I now regret sending, and she filed a complaint against me for stalking out of fear that I could go public with what she had revealed to me about her marriage and work.”
The Italian man adds, she in turn sent him messages of love along with photos and videos, claiming her husband had some sort of “understanding” regarding their situation.
This love triangle sounds like a plot from a movie.
The Italian film producer married the Oscar-winning actor in 1997. The couple have two teen sons together.
