Nicole Kidman Opens Up About Miscarriage During Marriage To Tom Cruise

Nicole Kidman learned of heartbreak at an early age.

The “Big Little Lies” star recently dwelled on her past relationship with Tom Cruise in the July issue of Tatler.  The actress discusses the hardships she faced in her early twenties, including a heartbreaking miscarriage that she endured at the age of 23.  Kidman suffered from what is known as an ectopic pregnancy, which means that the embryo began its development in the fallopian tube rather than the womb, which ultimately caused the miscarriage, according to Page Six. 

Throughout the interview, Kidman touches on the pain that comes with a miscarriage. “The loss of a miscarriage is not talked about enough. That’s massive grief to women.” Sadly enough, this was not Kidman’s last miscarriage.  The two continued attempts at conceiving until the suffered a second miscarriage which occurred around the time of their divorce in 2001.

Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise adopted two children during their marriage: Bella, 25 and Connor, who is now 22.
