Wedding Trends: Out With The Flowers, In With The Pizza!

Brides and grooms alike are trading in the traditional route of walking down the aisle with a bouquet of flowers for a slightly less orthodox idea.

According to CBS News, nationwide pizza chain Villa Italian Kitchen is offering brides the chance to win a bouquet fully made out of pizza to carry down the aisle.  Unfortunately, the chain is no longer accepting applications for the contest on their website, but will be randomly selecting a few lucky winners in the near future.

The bride isn’t the only one who gets to reap the benefits of such an unbelievable prize. The bouquet is accompanied by a pizza boutonniere for the groom to wear on the big day, as well.

“These delicious floral accessories are perfect for pizza-loving couples looking to spice up their wedding with one-of-a-kind designs,” Mimi Wunderlich, director of communications and digital marketing at Villa Italian Kitchen says.

This contest will not only bring immense amount of joy to soon-to-be-newlywed pizza lovers, but will also save couples a great deal of money on expensive floral arrangements that find typically find their place in the wedding ceremony.

What do you think?  Would you ever consider trading flowers for pizza in your own wedding ceremony?
