Mila Kunis Admits She And Ashton Kutcher Were Friends With Benefits First

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher were in lust before they were in love.

Although the two actors starred in That 70s Show together, it was strictly platonic until the two started dating shortly after Kutcher’s tumultuous divorce from Demi Moore.

In 2012, Mila and Ashton ran into each other and agreed to see each other with no strings attached. She, too, had also come off a long-term relationship with Macaulay Culkin. The Spy Who Dumped Me star revealed to Marc Maron on his WTF with Marc Maron podcast, that both were not interested in relationships, and looking for a good time with each other after a one-night stand. Their romance ensued like one of their films.

Ironically each actor had recently starred in films where their characters started out in friends with benefits and ended up in love.  Mila co-starred with Justin Timberlake in Friends with Benefits, and Ashton fell for Natalie Portman in No Strings Attached.

After three months, Kunis realized she was in love with her former co-star when he mentioned another woman in the mix.

“I felt like I got punched in the gut,” she told Maron. “I was like, ‘Oh my god, I’m in love with this man and I have to walk away because this is not the agreement that we had and so I’m going to speak up.”

After she confessed her feelings to Ashton, she broke off any further sleepovers. Like a movie, Ashton ran over to her house the next day and asked her to move in with him. “He goes, ‘I’m not going to lose you,'” she recounted to Maron. “And that was it.”

Fast forward to nine months when Daughter Wyatt arrived in October 2014 and the two married. Two years later they welcomed son, Dimitri on November 2016.

The lesson is love usually comes into play for one party or both in a friends with benefits situation.
